It is third year that a local film festival is held in order to Chungmuro International Film Festival in Seoul(CHIFFS) where has been a synonym for Korean film. CHIFFS started at DaeHan Cinema in Seoul and all over the district of it in 2007. In this year, over 240 films from some 40 countries were on the screen at CHIFFS with theme, Yesterday, Now and Forever. New York, I love You that is debut film of Natalie Hershlag was on the screen on the opening day, and the section, Lions on Czech Film including young Czech directors' films after 1990's and the section, Viva! Latin Cinema including Latin American films were on the show. Among Latin American films, Brazilian documentary film Bus 174 and comedy film If I were you were showed as well. Based on peace, Omnibus film 8 co-directed by Guss Van Sante, Beam Benders, and other 6 eminent directors was introduced in order to commemorate The International Day of Peace at the section Cine D'Auteur screening the prizewinning films at Cannes Film Festival, Venezia Film Festival and others. Also, some films to retrospect actor Shin Sung Ii were on the screen at the section Cine Retro  screening Korean classical cinemas and Grown Ups by Anna Nobion who took attention of whole world's critics after screening at Cannes Film Festival in 2008 was on the screen at the section Cine Forum presenting specialized media aesthetics. In spite of extensive growth of CHIFFS only for 3 years, it is true that valuation on local film festival empty of professionalism based on municipality has been low. We expect CHIFFS to be grown-up in next year.
