Art Center Nabi, once The Walkerhill Art Museum, under the directorship of Roh Soh-yeong, is a well established media art center. In Korean, nabi means, “butterfly that helps plants bear fruit”. Likewise, among the digital arts, Art Centre Nabi is an intermediary, fostering relations between the arts, technology, and the humanities.

Since its beginning, Nabi has presented a variety of media art in exhibitions including Dreaming Butterflies, Moist Window, Connected, and Nabi_Showcase 2007. Nabi also generated fresh imagining through the recent digital art festival P.Art.y (People, Art & Technology), dealing with the theme of network performance.
Nabi has long focused on developing communication between art and the viewer by, for example, using the Cyworld Love Virus and the SK Telecom June service in the M-Gallery.

Nabi also has a new art channel, displaying diverse videos on an enormous outdoor screen, like the media platform installed on the SK Telecom office buildings in Seoul and Daejon.

And, Nabi has also explored and experimented with new media’s variety of functions, extended artistic and viewer expression, and is an interaction between man and technology. We eagerly await its next leap into the future.
